釋曰：現身六處是前際果，由迷此果起無明、行乃至於受，無明等七能引所引，俱名引因；現在六處是無明等所緣起處，名引依處；由貪現受起愛、取、有，故說現受為生因依。若引因體，即前能依無明，七是生因亦前、愛、取、有三，未來生老名苦生起。

The explanation says: The six sense-bases of the present body are the fruits of the prior limit; due to delusion regarding this fruit, ignorance, karmic formations, and so forth up to feeling arise. The seven [branches] from ignorance onward, both the projectors and the projected, are all called the projecting cause. The six sense-bases of the present are the basis from which ignorance and the rest originate as objects, and are called the basis of projection. Due to craving for present feelings, craving, grasping, and existence arise, so present feelings are said to be the basis of the producing cause. As for the essence of the projecting cause, it is the aforementioned supporting ignorance; the seven [projecting and projected branches] are the producing causes, as well as the prior craving, grasping, and existence. Future birth and aging-and-death are called the arising of suffering.
