按《瑜伽論》五十五云：「愛云何謂於自體親眤藏護？後有愛云何？謂求當來自體差別。喜貪俱行愛云何？謂於現前惑於已得可愛色、聲、香、味、觸、法而起貪著。彼彼希樂愛云何？謂於所餘可愛色等起希望愛。」
According to the fifty-fifth fascicle of the Yogācārabhūmi: 'What is craving? It means clinging intimacy and sheltering protection toward one's own body. What is craving for future existence? It means seeking the distinctions of a future personal existence. What is craving associated with delight and passion? It means giving rise to passionate clinging toward present, or already obtained, delightful visible forms, sounds, odors, tastes, tactile objects, and mental objects. What is craving for various desires? It means giving rise to longing craving toward remaining delightful forms and so forth.'
