若准有宗有兩師說，故《婆沙論》五十三云：「問：聖為造欲界引同分業不？有說不造，欲界多過多災橫故，但造滿業；有說亦造。」前說為正。故《順正理》六十四云：「非諸聖者更能新作牽引後業，以背生死向涅槃故。」故經說，聖唯受古業。

Following the Sarvāstivāda school, there are teachings of two masters. Therefore the Mahāvibhāṣā, fascicle fifty-three, states: 'Question: Does a noble one generate karma that projects common destiny in the desire realm or not? Some say they do not generate it, because the desire realm has many faults and many calamities, so they only generate completing karma; some say they also generate it.' The former view is correct. Thus the Nyāyānusāra, fascicle sixty-four, states: 'Noble ones are not capable of newly generating karma that drags and projects future existence, because they turn away from saṃsāra and turn toward nirvāṇa.' Therefore the sūtras say that noble ones only experience past karma.
