6.722

望能得人得彼四定，自所得中最殊勝者即名邊際。若望他自，下不知上，下人云何名得邊際？邊際不得，何得變易？由斯不可望自他言。

From the perspective of a person capable of attaining who attains those four concentrations, that which is most supreme among what he himself has attained is termed the 'pinnacle.' If it were from the perspective of others and oneself, the lower would not know the higher, so how could a lower person be said to attain the pinnacle? If the pinnacle is not attained, how could transformation-body [rebirth] be attained? Therefore, one cannot speak of it from the perspective of oneself and others.
