7.181

釋曰：因彼所執、能執之心，相分熏似我、法等種，見復熏成能執之種。種因彼起，名「攝習氣」，非彼無體能持習氣名為攝也。依他五業者：一、能生諸雜染體；二、能為遍計所執自性及圓成自性所依；三、能為眾生執所依。

Explanation: Due to that imagined [object] and the grasping mind, the nimitta-bhāga perfuses seeds resembling self, dharmas, and so forth, and the darśana-bhāga further perfuses and forms seeds of the grasping mind. Because the seeds arise due to that, it is called "subsuming vasanas"; it is not that its lack of substance can hold vasanas and is thus called subsuming. The five activities of the other-dependent are: 1. It can produce all defiled substances; 2. it can serve as the support for the imagined nature and the consummate nature; 3. it can serve as the support for the grasping of sentient beings.
