The commentary states: The parikalpita is devoid of substance, hence it is 'non-originated.' Serving as an object, it is able to produce the mind capable of grasping and so forth, hence it is called 'able to produce the originated.' The paratantra has substance, and conditioned arising is called 'originated.' Being able to produce the paratantra is called 'producing the originated'; being able to produce the mind that grasps that non-originated nature is called 'producing the non-originated.'
