Answer: "Place" means locus, which refers to the four that are obstructed. Because these four hindrances obstruct the four practices of contemplation, they take the name "place" from what is obstructed. "Hindrances of the four places" is a dependent-determinative compound (tatpuruṣa). Alternatively, these four hindrances are the places where the discriminating mind resides; the hindrance is itself the place, which is an appositional compound (karmadhāraya). The general meaning here is: the first two obstruct the practice of recoiling from the small and aspiring to the great, while the latter two obstruct the practice of relinquishing the false and realizing the true; hence they are called "hindrances." As for the wisdoms that can abandon them, they are contemplation of signlessness and of the three natures. By realizing phenomenal emptiness, realizing the absence of grasper and grasped, and abandoning the discriminating mind, the four wisdoms respectively abandon those four hindrances.
