答：在十信位斷於初障，由離小心初入大乘十信位故；在十解位斷第二障，由於大乘離疑惑故，而得正解修菩薩行；在十迴向乃至忍位斷第三障，由觀遍計遣所執故；在世第一斷第四障，由此第一分別觀智加行息滅，得成初地最上覺故。若據相違正滅言之，斷分別障即在初地，成此第四離分別障。《論》引頌云：「現前自然住，安立一切相，智者不分別，得最上菩提。」

Answer: At the stage of the ten faiths one abandons the first hindrance, because by leaving the small mind one first enters the stage of the ten faiths of the Mahāyāna; at the stage of the ten understandings one abandons the second hindrance, because by leaving doubt regarding the Mahāyāna one attains correct understanding and cultivates the bodhisattva practices; at the ten dedications up to the stage of patience one abandons the third hindrance, because by contemplating the imagined [nature] one dispels what is grasped; at the worldly supreme [stage] one abandons the fourth hindrance, because the expedient exertion of this supreme discriminating wisdom-contemplation ceases, enabling one to attain the supreme awakening of the first ground. If speaking in terms of direct cessation through opposition, the abandonment of the hindrance of discrimination occurs precisely in the first ground, accomplishing this fourth leaving of the hindrance of discrimination. The Treatise quotes a verse saying: "Present and naturally abiding, / establishing all characteristics; / the wise do not discriminate, / attaining supreme bodhi."
