《疏》有兩釋。有義彈後釋云：若印能取無，順隨觀察，順通上忍，應印所取無，亦順觀彼；順通下忍，理俱齊故。下忍由印，既不名「順」；上忍亦印，寧有「順」名？故今解：順唯在中忍，上忍如下，但名「印忍」。

The Commentary provides two interpretations. Another opinion criticises the latter interpretation, saying: If confirming the nonexistence of the grasper while conforming to observation means that 'conforming' extends to the highest forbearance, then confirming the nonexistence of the grasped while also conforming to observing it should mean that 'conforming' extends to the lowest forbearance, because the principle is identical in both. Since the lowest forbearance, being confirmation, is not named 'conforming', how could the highest forbearance, which is also confirmation, have the name 'conforming'? Therefore, the present explanation holds: 'conforming' belongs solely to the medium forbearance; the highest forbearance, like the lowest, is only named 'forbearance of confirmation'.
