謂思現觀唯欲界故，不依八定，名「依非依」。餘五通依八定地有，據修道說。又三依五，此三初生依於見道。四禪根本及一未至，名「為五依」。見道眷屬信亦五依，餘信現觀而即不爾，故云「一分」。

This means that because the direct realisation through reflection belongs solely to the desire realm, it does not rely on the eight concentrations; this is called 'having support and non-support'. The remaining five generally exist relying on the eight stages of concentration, which is stated in terms of the path of cultivation. Furthermore, three rely on five: these three, at their initial arising, rely on the path of vision; the root stages of the four dhyānas and one preliminary stage are called the 'five supports'. Faith as an attendant of the path of vision also has the five supports, whereas other kinds of direct realisation through faith are not like this; hence it says 'a portion'.
