詳曰：後說應勝。夫言法者放似之義。所法既無能法何有。雖知假說亦假似真。以除麁重似彼斷。種假言遣惑故後說善。

Examination: The latter explanation is superior. For 'emulating' has the meaning of imitating. If the object emulated does not exist, how could that which emulates exist? Although one knows it is spoken of conventionally, the conventional also imitates the real. Because eliminating gross heaviness resembles the severing of seeds, it is conventionally said to expel afflictions; hence the latter explanation is excellent.
