按《瑜伽論》三十九云：「財施者，謂以上妙清淨如法財物而行惠施，調伏慳悋垢而行惠施，調伏積藏垢而行惠施；無畏施者，謂濟拔師子、虎、狼、鬼魅等畏，拔濟王、賊等畏，拔濟水、火等畏；法施者，謂無倒說法，稱理說法，勸修學處。如是一切總說九相。」

According to the Yogācārabhūmi, fascicle thirty-nine: 'Giving of material wealth means practicing giving with superior, pure, lawful wealth and goods; practicing giving by subduing the stain of stinginess; and practicing giving by subduing the stain of hoarding. Giving of fearlessness means rescuing and freeing [others] from fears of lions, tigers, wolves, demons, and so forth; rescuing and freeing from fears of kings, thieves, and so forth; and rescuing and freeing from fears of water, fire, and so forth. Giving of the Dharma means preaching the Dharma without error, preaching the Dharma in accordance with principle, and exhorting the cultivation of the precepts. All of these together are spoken of as nine aspects.'
