7.506

有三四句，如《疏》所明。又按《優婆塞戒經》廣作四句，施四句云：是施非度，謂聲聞、緣覺、凡夫、外道、初二僧祇菩薩等施；度而非施，謂餘五度；示度亦施，第三僧祇菩薩所施；非度非施，謂二乘等所修五度。餘度四句准此可量。

There are three tetralemmas, as explained in the Commentary. Moreover, according to the Upāsakaśīla-sūtra, the tetralemmas are extensively constructed. The tetralemma for giving says: It is giving but not a pāramitā, which refers to the giving of śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, ordinary persons, non-Buddhists, and bodhisattvas of the first two asaṃkhyeya-kalpas; it is a pāramitā but not giving, which refers to the other five pāramitās; it is a pāramitā and also giving, which refers to the giving practiced by bodhisattvas of the third asaṃkhyeya-kalpa; it is neither a pāramitā nor giving, which refers to the five pāramitās practiced by the two vehicles and the like. The tetralemmas for the remaining pāramitās may be inferred accordingly.
