答：經據任運進修，不退增勝名「度」；論依具相，通退、不退，加、無加行，以立「度」名。望義不同，故無違也。

Answer: The sūtra takes advancing in cultivation spontaneously without retrogression and with superior increase to be called 'pāramitā'; the treatise designates the name 'pāramitā' based on having complete characteristics, common to retrogression and non-retrogression, with and without preparatory application (prayogāvasthā). Because their perspectives on the meaning differ, there is no contradiction.
