答：《佛地》第三有二師釋，正義同此。第二師云：轉第六識得成事作智，轉五現識得妙觀察。正義破云：此不應爾，非次第故。說法除疑周遍觀察，非五用故。

Answer: Fascicle three of the Buddhabhūmy-upadeśa has explanations by two masters; the orthodox opinion is identical to this. The second master says: Transforming the sixth consciousness attains the wisdom that accomplishes what is to be done, and transforming the five manifesting consciousnesses attains the wondrously observing wisdom. The orthodox opinion refutes this, saying: This should not be so, because it is not sequential; preaching the Dharma, dispelling doubts, and observing ubiquitously are not the functions of the five [consciousnesses].
