答：色有離質，化通非身；心法不然，無非身化。彼論復有異師說云：心不可化，但由定力能令自心解非分法，名化自心。若加被他，令愚昧者解甚深法，令失念者得正憶念，名化他心。前為正義。

Answer: Matter has existence apart from the archetype, so transformation extends to non-bodies; mental phenomena are not so, and thus have no transformation of non-bodies. In that treatise there is another teacher's explanation which says: Mind cannot be transformed; rather, solely through the power of samādhi one can cause one's own mind to understand Dharma that is beyond one's capacity, which is called transforming one's own mind. If one empowers others, causing the ignorant to understand the profound Dharma and causing those who have lost mindfulness to attain right mindfulness, this is called transforming another's mind. The former is the correct doctrine.
