Examining the first chapter of that sūtra, it states: "Guanghui, you should know! Among the various sentient beings in the saṃsāra of the six destinies, or when physical forms arise in the four modes of birth, the mind and consciousness endowed with all seeds is initially accomplished therein. Guanghui! This consciousness is named ādāna, is also named ālaya, and is also named citta. Serving as the basis, the collection of the six consciousnesses operates, just as waves arise depending on torrential water, or reflections appear depending on a clean, bright mirror."
