述曰：解頌膿河，河中膿滿，得膿河名，非有小膿，名膿河也。如西域中賣蘇人，說「賣蘇瓶」言，滿瓶著蘇并瓶，亦賣言「賣蘇瓶」，非有少蘇，言「賣蘇瓶」。舊言蘇甕，膿河亦爾。

Commentary: Explaining "river of pus" in the verse: because the river is full of pus, it gets the name "river of pus"; it is not that having a little pus is called a "river of pus." Just as sellers of ghee in the Western Regions say "selling a ghee pot" when a pot full of ghee, together with the pot, is sold, saying "selling a ghee pot," not that having a little ghee is called "selling a ghee pot." The older version said "ghee urn"; a river of pus is also like this.
