述曰：下正解難。然大乘中，其獄卒等，在地獄中，作逼害者，非實有情，至下當悉。其擲罪人置地獄者，是實有情，與《俱舍》同。此對薩婆多及經部等，申其正理；不對大眾、正量部等申其正理。下正解難。

Commentary: Below is the direct resolution of the objection. However, in the Mahāyāna, those hell wardens that inflict affliction in hell are not real sentient beings, as will be fully explained below. Those who cast sinful people into hell are real sentient beings, which is the same as in the *Abhidharmakośa*. This sets forth the correct principle against the Sarvāstivāda and Sautrāntika and so forth; it does not set forth the correct principle against the Mahāsāṃghika and Saṃmatīya and so forth. Below is the direct resolution of the objection.
