述曰：此下破救。初總非，後理逼。然此所說業果等事，事皆有故，非是全無。然說識外實有體，總名不應理，體用少有，名非全無。非內識變說非應理。

The Commentary says: Below, the rescue is refuted: first a general negation, and then logical coercion. However, since the phenomena of karma, fruit, and so on mentioned here all exist in fact, they are not entirely nonexistent. But claiming that they truly exist with substantial entities outside consciousness is collectively called 'not logically tenable.' That there is a small measure of entity and function is why it is called 'not entirely nonexistent.' That they are not transformations of internal consciousness is what is said to be not logically tenable.
