The Commentary says: The phenomena known by the Buddhas' two knowledges—the fundamental and the subsequent—namely the other-dependent nature and the fully perfected nature, are not non-existent. These two natures are by nature free from the grasps of verbal elaboration; it is not meant that one enters the selflessness of phenomena by knowing that these two natures are also non-existent. In entering the selflessness of phenomena, one only knows, among the three natures, that the first is non-existent and that the other two natures exist; this is called vijñapti-mātra. Entering the emptiness of all phenomena is also the realm of bodhisattvas; mentioning only Buddhas is spoken in terms of the pre-eminent persons.
