述曰：此第三難。若執境一，於無隔障一方處所，多象、馬等皆集其中應不得有。象、馬等物多間隙事，二物中間所見空處。是次下難，象、馬二物自不相到，名間隙事，是此中難。

Commentary: This is the third difficulty. If the object is held to be one, in a single location without intervening obstructions where multiple elephants, horses, and so forth are all assembled, it should not be possible to have [such a state]. The state of multiple intervals among things such as elephants and horses refers to the empty space seen between two things. This is the next difficulty below; that the two things, elephants and horses, do not themselves reach each other is called the state of intervals, which is the difficulty here.
