述曰：此結非也。道理既爾，故汝所說以憶持故，證曾五識所見實有，其義不成。直以自宗，釋外所難，奪他所說，更無異理。如說汝細心，即我第八識。然舊論本，上來所說一頌半文，異常難解，披者當知。

Commentary: This concludes the rejection. The principle being so, what you said—that through memory one proves that what was seen by the past five consciousnesses really exists—is unestablished in meaning. It directly uses our own tenets to explain the opponent's objection and takes away what they say, with no other principle. Just as saying: 'Your subtle mind is our eighth consciousness.' However, in the old translation of the treatise, the passage of one and a half verses explained above is exceptionally difficult to understand, as the reader should know.
