述曰：釋上半頌，「如是」者，結法也。增上緣中，由他能殺，起殺害識，轉變力故，令所殺者違害於己命根事起，如由鬼等意念勢力，他失念等。直以事喻，令義增明，不繁比量。

Commentary: Explaining the upper half of the verse: 'Thus' concludes the doctrine. Within the adhipati-pratyaya, through the killer's arising of a consciousness bent on killing and its transformative power, an event that violates and harms the victim's own life-faculty is brought about, just as through the power of the mental intention of spirits and the like, others lose mindfulness and so forth. Directly using actual analogies clarifies the meaning without multiplying anumānas.
