述曰：彼宗意說：唯意不能成殺業道，令有情死。仙人起欲，鬼神敬重，見仙意嗔，遂為仙殺彼有情類，不唯由仙意嗔力故，有情死也。牒彼計救，故言「若」者。

The commentary says: That school's intended position is that mind alone cannot accomplish the course of killing karma to cause sentient beings to die; when the ascetics gave rise to the wish, the spirits and ghosts revered them and, seeing the ascetics' mental rage, subsequently killed those sentient beings for the ascetics, so it was not solely due to the power of the ascetics' mental rage that sentient beings died. In taking up and responding to their objection, the text says "if".
