述曰：此外人徵，釋上半頌。汝前所說若凡、若聖諸他心智既緣他心，云何於境不如實知？然此等文，勘舊論文，非有難解，極有少略，不能繁述，學者當知。

The Commentary states: This is the opponent's query, explaining the first half of the verse: 'If, as you said earlier, the various knowledges of others' minds—whether of ordinary persons or of nobles—take others' minds as object, how is it that they do not know their objects as they truly are?' However, when examining the older translation of the treatise, these passages are not difficult to understand; they are extremely concise and abbreviated, so they cannot be expounded in detail; scholars should understand this.
