The Commentary states: This is the treatise master's resolution, explaining the third line of the verse. It is called knowledge of others' minds because the mind transforms and takes it as object with the other's mind as the archetype, not because it can directly grasp the other's mind and so forth. Just as all knowledges taking one's own mind as object also do not directly grasp it, but merely transform and take it as object, differing from the archetype, which is called 'not as it truly is'. This knowledge of one's own mind refers to the seeing division, because earlier and later are admitted to transform and take each other as object; it is not the self-authenticating division and so forth that is called knowledge of one's own mind, for that knows as it truly is, without any discordant understanding.
