相應之義有四：謂時、依、所緣及事皆同，乃相應也。觸等看與何心生時，便屬彼心之觸等，故如次為三義也。

The meaning of association has four aspects: namely, sameness of time, support, cognitive object, and substance; only then is there association. When contact and the like arise with whatever citta, they belong to the contact and the like of that citta; hence they correspond to the three characteristics in sequence.
