「一切法中，心法最勝，是故經言：『心淨故眾生淨，心染故眾生染。』由此心故，或著生死、或證涅槃，以勝用強，是故第一明其心法。」
"Among all dharmas, citta-dharmas are the most supreme. Therefore a sūtra states: 'Because the mind is pure, sentient beings are pure; because the mind is defiled, sentient beings are defiled.' Dependent on this mind, one either clings to saṃsāra or realizes nirvāṇa. Because their supreme function is powerful, citta-dharmas are explained first."
