三、約理事門者。就此一乘法界之中，若約隨事行果緣起相異，及理事非一，故名差別法界。今此論正明此義，故以為宗。

Third, as for the gateway in terms of principle and phenomena: within this dharmadhātu of the ekayāna, if we consider how the dependent origination of practices and fruits differs according with phenomena, and that principle and phenomena are not one, it is called the differentiated dharmadhātu. Now this treatise specifically clarifies this meaning, and therefore takes it as its tenet.
