問曰：何故麁者相應，細不相應？釋曰：麁者有時作意別相而起，故與心別共相應；細者性成非別起，故名不相應。

Question: Why are the coarse [delusions] associated, while the fine [delusions] are non-associated? Explanation: The coarse ones sometimes arise with distinct aspects through attention, and therefore, being distinct from the mind, they are associated together [with it]; the fine ones are innately formed and do not arise separately, and hence are called non-associated.
