2.35

問曰：若是六識中無明心者，與七識中無明何別？此如上辨，以於心外事相法中，執性迷空，故非妄識。又於心外事相法中，解知無性，是事識中，分別之解非七識智。

Question: If it is the mind of ignorance within the six consciousnesses, how does it differ from the ignorance within the seventh consciousness? [Answer:] This is as discriminated above: because it grasps at substantial nature and is bewildered about emptiness regarding phenomenal dharmas outside the mind, it is not deluded consciousness. Furthermore, understanding and knowing the absence of substantial nature regarding phenomenal dharmas outside the mind is discriminating understanding within phenomenal consciousness, not the wisdom of the seventh consciousness.
