言念已𨒬事慮未來事者，顯此識用不同智識，以彼但緣現在境故。由此文證，故知此相續識正是意識，不同上說相續心也。

Speaking of recalling past events and deliberating on future events clarifies that the function of this consciousness is not the same as that of the cognitive consciousness, because that [cognitive consciousness] takes only present objects as its sphere. Certified by this text, we know that this continuous consciousness is precisely the manovijñāna, unlike the continuous mind mentioned above.
