用熏習中，「差別緣」者，為彼凡夫二乘分別事識熏習，而作緣也。「能作緣」者，從初發意菩薩，乃至諸佛，皆得作緣。如文廣說。

Within the perfuming of function, "differentiated conditions" means acting as conditions for that perfuming of the consciousness that discriminates objects of ordinary beings and [followers of] the two vehicles. "Those capable of acting as conditions" refers to bodhisattvas from their first aspiration up to all Buddhas; all can act as conditions, as explained extensively in the text.
