1.184

言「不知轉識現故見從外」者，如上所說五種識內第二轉識所現色相，不離轉識，而意識不知如是道理，謂自心外實有佛身來為我說法也。

Regarding the phrase "not knowing that it is manifested by the evolving consciousness, they see it as coming from outside": the physical forms manifested by the second, evolving consciousness among the five kinds of consciousness explained above are not apart from the evolving consciousness. Yet the manovijñāna does not know this principle, and thinks that outside one's own mind there truly exists a Buddha-body coming to expound the Dharma for oneself.
