四、此人不耐繁文，唯依文約義豐之論，深解佛經所說之旨，故言心樂總持而攝多義。此無文義二持。此文有二：初、辨根劣。二、「如是此論」下，對此劣根明教之興。

Fourth, this person cannot endure elaborate text, and only by relying on a śāstra whose words are concise and whose meaning is abundant do they deeply understand the purport taught in the Buddha's sūtras; hence it is said that their minds delight in dhāraṇī that subsumes many meanings. These lack the retention of both text and meaning. In this text, there are two: first, distinguishing the inferior faculty; second, from "Thus this śāstra" onward, clarifying the arising of the teaching with respect to this inferior faculty.
