第四通中，文有二：初、與彼問辭。二、「以眾生根行」下，奪彼疑情明須作論。於中有二：初、舉根緣二相以立宗。二、「如來在世」下，別釋根緣。

In the fourth, the resolution, the text has two parts: first, it sets forth the words of that question; second, from "Because sentient beings' faculties and conduct" onward, it refutes their doubt and explains the necessity of composing the śāstra. In this, there are two: first, adducing the two marks of faculties and conditions to establish the thesis; second, from "When the Tathāgata was in the world" onward, specifically explaining the faculties and conditions.
