3.100

增長念者，謂由境界力，增長事識中智相相續相法執分別念也。增長取者，增長事識中執取相計名字相，謂人我見愛煩惱也。

"Increasing thought" means that, through the power of objective realms, the discriminating thoughts of grasping at dharmas—the mark of knowledge and the mark of continuation within the empirical consciousness—are increased. "Increasing grasping" means the increase of the mark of grasping and clinging and the mark of attaching to names within the empirical consciousness; that is, the afflictions of view of self and affection.
