此用有二種。云何為二？一者、依分別事識，凡夫、二乘心所見者，名為應身。以不知轉識現故見從外來，取色分齊不能盡知故。

"This function has two kinds. What are the two? First, relying on the differentiating empirical consciousness, that which is seen by the minds of ordinary beings and [followers of] the two vehicles is called the response body. Because they do not know that it is manifested by the evolving consciousness, they see it as coming from outside, grasping the measures of forms and being unable to know it completely."
