3.26

初執相應染者，是六麁中執取相及計名字相，亦是上意識見愛煩惱所增長義，亦是上四相中麁分別執著相也。但麁心外執，與境相應，污其淨行，故云染也。

First, the attachment-conjoined defilement is the mark of grasping and the mark of calculating names among the six coarse marks; it is also the meaning of being augmented by the afflictions of view and affection of the empirical consciousness above; and it is also the coarse mark of discrimination and clinging among the four marks above. Merely coarse mental external clinging, conjoined with sensory realms, defiles pure practice, hence called "defilement".
