進中亦三：初、勤勇精進；二、立志下，明難壞精進；三、當念下，明無足精進。以念己長淪虛受大苦，以自勤勵修善無厭。是故下，總結勸修。

Within vigor there are also three: first, courageous vigor; second, from 'establishing a resolute determination' onward clarifies indomitable vigor; third, from 'one should be mindful' onward clarifies insatiable vigor. Because one is mindful that one has long sunk and vainly suffered great pain, one urges oneself on to cultivate goodness without weariness. From 'therefore' onward is the summary conclusion exhorting practice.
