不能中，六種障故不能也。一、疑惑者，於理猶豫故。二、不信者，是闡提故。三、誹謗者，是外道故。四、重罪業障者，謂五逆四重人故。五、我慢者，是恃我自高故。六、懈怠者，是放逸不勤故。是六種人隨有一種即不能入也。

Regarding those who cannot, they cannot because of six kinds of obstacles: 1. “Doubt”: because they hesitate over the Principle. 2. “Lack of faith”: because they are icchantikas. 3. “Disparagement”: because they are non-Buddhists. 4. “Grave transgressions and karmic obstacles”: meaning people who have committed the five heinous sins or the four grave offenses. 5. “Arrogance”: because they rely on the self and elevate themselves. 6. “Indolence”: because they are heedless and unremitting. If someone has any one of these six kinds, they cannot enter.
