謂我見我愛我慢之使常相應也。言貪著等者，內著邪定，外貪名利，又但一切禪定不能減損煩惱者，皆不可據也。

This means that the afflictive propensities of self-view, self-craving, and conceit of self are constantly conjoined. As for 'greedily cling,' etc.: internally they cling to heterodox samādhi, and externally they crave fame and profit. Furthermore, any dhyāna and samādhi that cannot diminish afflictions is entirely unreliable.
