○防退法中有二：初通舉聖意，後別引經證。前中二：初、標聖善巧；二、「謂以專意」下，釋顯巧相。

Within the method for preventing regression there are two parts: first, generally adducing the noble intention; second, specifically citing a sūtra as proof. Within the former there are two: first, marking the noble skillful means; second, from "meaning that by the cause and condition of single-mindedly being mindful of the Buddha" down, explaining and revealing the characteristics of this skillfulness.
