3.83

無明亦爾，依心體而動，若心體滅者，則眾生斷絕無所依止；以體不滅，心得相續。唯癡滅故，心相隨滅，非心智滅。

Avidyā is also like this: relying on the substance of the mind, it moves. If the substance of the mind ceased, then sentient beings would be severed and have nothing on which to rely; because the substance does not cease, the mind is able to continue. Only because delusion ceases do the marks of the mind cease accordingly; it is not that the cognition of the mind ceases.
