Because a bodhisattva generates this mind, they attain a partial vision of the dharmakāya. Because of seeing the dharmakāya, according to the power of their vows they are able to manifest eight kinds of [activities] benefiting sentient beings: namely, descending from the Tuṣita heaven, entering the womb, staying in the womb, emerging from the womb, leaving the household life, attaining the path, turning the wheel of the Dharma, and entering into nirvāṇa. However, this bodhisattva is not yet named dharmakāya, because their outflow-tainted karma from immeasurable lifetimes in the past has not yet been decisively severed, and in accordance with where they are born they are conjoined with subtle suffering; yet they are not bound by karma, because of having the sovereign power of great vows.
