隨染本覺者，亦前略說是體，文云：心體離念故。此段是相，文云：生二種相故。後四鏡是體相雙辨，文云：覺體相故。

Regarding original enlightenment that conforms to defilement: the brief explanation earlier concerned essence, as the text stated: 'Because the essence of mind is free from thought.' This passage concerns marks, as the text says: 'Because it gives rise to two kinds of marks.' The subsequent four mirrors treat both essence and marks together, as the text says: 'The essence and marks of enlightenment.'
