11.42

論　異相下，二：初、喻。前同相則以生滅望真如說，以相望性明其同也。今異相，秖就生滅一門染淨自相望以成異也。

The Treatise states: Regarding "The marks of difference...", second: First, the analogy. The earlier mark of identity was spoken of by contrasting arising and ceasing with tathatā, clarifying their identity by viewing marks in relation to nature. Now, the mark of difference constitutes difference merely within the single gate of arising and ceasing, by viewing the defiled and pure in their own mutual marks.
