12.65

無明下，二、智障，二：初、標法定名也。疏　根本無明者，若取諸識中之一分，亦兼枝末。以末從本，故作此標。

[Regarding] "Avidyā...", and so on: second, the hindrance to wisdom, in two parts: first, indicating the dharma and determining its name. The commentary's "fundamental avidyā": if one takes a portion within the consciousnesses, it also encompasses the branch-and-tip [avidyā]. Subsuming the branch under the root, it is formulated in this way.
