逆論滅義者，夫斷除妄染，理合從麁至細；今反於此，故云逆也。蓋直約道理，不對人治故。

[On the section] "Discussing the Meaning of Cessation in Reverse Order": Cutting off deluded defilements should in principle proceed from coarse to subtle; now it reverses this, hence it is called "reverse." This is because it treats the principle directly, without aligning it with persons' counteracting practices.
